🎯 Price Targets

Price Targets are one of the most powerful features in Gextron. They provide forward-looking ranges based on option premium flow and implied volatility.

Opening Price Targets in the Dashboard

  • Click on a ticker to open its panel.
  • Look for the Price Targets module under the analysis section.
  • These are the daily and weekly targets available on Hero and Free dashboards.

Why Price Targets Matter

Price Targets provide clear exit zones and help set realistic profit goals by expiration date.
  • They are forward-looking, not lagging.
  • Derived from option premium flow + implied volatility.
  • Help avoid chasing far OTM contracts with low probability of success.
  • Allow traders to plan entries, exits, spreads, and hedges with precision.

Types of Price Targets

β€’ Best for intraday and ETF trading (SPY, QQQ, IWM).
β€’ Recalculate daily as IV shifts and theta contracts.
β€’ Mark them every morning during your pre-market prep.
Daily targets are the bread and butter for SPX/ETF traders.
β€’ Every Friday expiration is shown as (W) in Gextron.
β€’ If it’s a short week (holiday), the Friday expiration adjusts.
β€’ Great for swing trades or weekly income strategies.
β€’ Gextron groups expirations by month accordion.
β€’ Open a month β†’ see all available expirations.
β€’ Choose the last Friday expiration of the month as your monthly target.
β€’ Acts as the top/bottom range for that month.
β€’ For ETFs/indices β†’ shown as (Q) in Gextron.
β€’ For equities β†’ use the expiration closest to the next earnings date (after earnings digests).
β€’ Mark as QEM on your chart.
β€’ Provides a larger timeframe expected move around quarterly catalysts.
β€’ Use the last week of December or the first week of January after year end.
β€’ Mark these levels once the year begins.
β€’ Provides a long-term anchor to track annual ranges.

How Gextron Builds Price Targets

  • Always forward-looking
  • Based on option premium flows
  • Calculated ranges include:
    • Top range β†’ bullish target
    • Bottom range β†’ bearish target
  • Useful for:
    • Going long = top range target
    • Going short = bottom range target
    • Spreads = full range defines your boundaries
Price Targets update as theta decays and as sides are hit. Always re-check mid-session or after a target is reached.

1

Mark Daily Targets

Especially important for SPY, QQQ, IWM. These guide your intraday trades.
2

Add Weekly Targets

Every Friday expiration. Use (W) markers in Gextron.
3

Set Monthly Targets

Open the month accordion and mark the last expiration of the month.
4

Track Quarterly Expected Moves (Q / QEM)

For ETFs = (Q) target.
For equities = expiration closest to next earnings date.
5

End-of-Year Target

Mark the last week of December or first week of January to anchor the yearly range.

Example Workflow

  1. Pre-market β†’ open ticker, mark daily targets.
  2. Swing setups β†’ add weekly (W) and monthly levels.
  3. Quarterly catalyst β†’ mark QEM or (Q) level.
  4. Yearly anchor β†’ mark end-of-year level.
  5. Update targets mid-session if theta contracts or if one side is already hit.
